Meet writer James Attlee and producer Emma Whittaker, creators of The Cartographer’s Confession, winner of The New Media Writing Prize 2017, and enjoy a personally guided experience of the app!

James Attlee is the author of books including, Isolarion, Nocturne: A Journey in Search of Moonlight, Station to Station and Guernica: Painting the End of the World.

Emma Whittaker is the creator of locative narrative apps including, The Lost Index: Landscape with Figures, The Lost Index: The Turning, The Lost Index: NATMUS, LociOscope: The Letters and Journeyer’s Guidebook.

The Cartographer’s Confession is a work of Ambient Literature created for the smartphone that takes place across central London. The smartphone app combines fiction and non-fiction, imagined and real locations in a tale of migration and loss, hope and retribution, featuring 3-D soundscapes and a musical score by The Night Sky.

IMPORTANT!
• The app is available for free download from Google Play and the App Store. Please download it to your own phone before you arrive.
• Location services and Wi-Fi need to be turned on and your phone needs to be fully charged (bring a charger if necessary).
• Headphones (per person) are required. (Noise-cancelling headphones are not advisable here. Ordinary consumer headphones will enable you to hear your surroundings and give you the best experience.)
• This event is free of charge but you will be travelling around London by Tube so please be prepared to pay by contactless debit or credit card, Oyster or Travelcard.
